Dollar changes hands in upper 108 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo

TOKYO, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 108 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Wednesday, primarily unchanged from its levels seen overnight in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 108.61-62 yen compared with 108.76-86 yen in New York and 109.45-46 yen at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1922-1923 dollars and 129.50-51 yen against 1.1908-1918 dollars and 129.54-64 yen in New York and 1.1878-1880 dollars and 130.01-05 yen in late Tuesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
