BEIJING, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Friday met with Myanmar's Speaker of the House of Representatives (Lower House) U Win Myint.

The two countries' leaders have reached important consensus on developing friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, said Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

China will work with Myanmar to maintain sound high-level exchanges, strengthen strategic guidance to bilateral relations and push forward all-round cooperation, Yu said.

China's CPPCC National Committee attaches importance to the friendly exchanges with Myanmar's parliament, and will increase experience sharing in political participation, Yu said.

Saying Myanmar and China have enjoyed a long-standing "paukphaw" (fraternal) friendship, U Win Myint said Myanmar's parliament will continue to contribute to bilateral ties.
