Kenyan runner wins Tallinn Marathon 2017

TALLINN, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Kenyan runner Kiprotich Kirui Sunday won the Tallinn Marathon 2017 for 2 hours 9 minutes and 22 seconds.

The second and third place respectively went to his compatriots Dickson Terer and Robert Magut for 2 hours 17 minutes and 2 hours 21 minutes and 20 seconds.

At the fourth in the general ranking, Argo Joesoo won the Estonian Championship Marathon with a personal best of 2 hours 28 minutes and 15 seconds.

Taavi Aas, Acting Mayor of Tallinn city, presented medals to the winners when they arrived at the finish line.

The program of the three-day Tallinn Marathon 2017 included a marathon (42,195 km) and a half-marathon (21,1 km) on Sunday, 10 km Run, walk, Nordic Walking and Children races on Saturday and 5 km We Run Tallinn event for youth on Friday.

About 15,000 participants from around 50 countries and regions took part in the traditional and international sport event.
