TIRANA, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Albania's economic development and the country's integration in the European Union are two of the main pillars where the new government's program will be based on for the next four years, Albanian Premier Edi Rama declared Monday.

While unveiling his government program for his second term, PM Rama stated during Monday's plenary session that sustainable economic growth and macro-economic stability were the focal point of the 28-page ruling program.

According to Rama, the 2017-2021 government program included the "One billion" package recently launched by the government which will inject more than 100 billion lek (nearly 900 million U.S. dollars) into the economy.

Meanwhile, Rama noted that in his second mandate, he aimed a 5.5-6 percent economic growth.

On the other hand, he said his government would be engaged in cutting Albania's public debt below the level of 60 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP).

Investments in infrastructure and in tourism will also be in focus of the new government during its second term in office.

The prime minister also announced the "Rural renaissance", a government initiative aimed at reviving rural areas.

In the first mandate, the government implemented the "urban renaissance" which had to do with the rehabilitation of the main cities and towns.

Besides economy, Rama focused on the judicial reform that he considered a condition which needed to be delivered.

The head of government said that his government would "take all the necessary measures in order to have an independent, efficient, uncorrupt, professional and accessible judicial system by all citizens."

Meanwhile, Rama noted that it was imperative for the new government that the process of integration in the European Union continues to be a focal point for the next four years too.

Consolidation of Albania's position abroad, especially in the Euro-Atlantic space, is another important point of the government's program in the next four years, as far as foreign policy is concerned.
