SARAJEVO, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Promotion and preservation of traditional honey from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is a focus of "Bee Fest 2017" which opened here on Wednesday.
Some 50 presenters from the region will have the opportunity to present different types of honey, honey products and beekeeping equipment at the Liberation Square in Sarajevo.
"Most of the presenters come from traditional households, where the experience of honey production has been passed from one generation to another," director of the Bee Fest Samira Katica-Arnautovic said at the opening.
On the opening day, visitors had the opportunity to educate themselves about different types of honey and buy products. In the next days, residents of Sarajevo and tourists can give evaluations of the honey at various competitions.
Milanka Batinic, owner of the "Batinic Bee Center", engages in the Bee Fest since 2002, saying that the fair is a unique and a very good opportunity for promotion of products.
"We produce different products from honey and healing herbs, including honey, creams, tinctures and cosmetics. In my opinion, the most successful is when the old customers come back satisfied and thankful for my products," Batinic told Xinhua.
She added that she is very satisfied with the organization of the fair, because it is always traditionally held in September, which gives the opportunity to both customers and presenters to prepare on time.
For Ermin Delic, the Bee Fest is the place for presentation of different honey products for 10 years in a row. Delic is an economist and owner of the "Golden Drop Bee Center" from Zenica, a city some 70 kilometers northwest from Sarajevo.
"This year, visitors ask most for the immunity-strengthening products," Delic told Xinhua.
The "Bee Fest 2017" will be held until Sept. 17.
