TEHRAN, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has allocated 300,000 U.S. dollars to improve the living condition of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.
The donation by the Iranian top leader followed a letter by his representative in the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) about the unfavourable conditions of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
In the letter, Khamenei was detailed about the displacement of Rohingya Muslims and the necessary measures to be taken by the IRCS in this regard.
The assistance came after Amnesty International accused Myanmar's security forces of committing crimes against humanity as hundreds of thousands of Rohingya women, men, and children have fled the country.
Iranian officials have repeatedly voiced readiness to construct emergency camps and field hospitals for the refugees on Bangladesh's border with Myanmar.
