DHAKA, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- China's successful development led by the Communist Party of China (CPC) has raised the living standard of its people and won worldwide recognition, said Dilip Barua, general secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh.

In a recent interview with Xinhua, Barua hailed the CPC as politically firm, theoretically mature and intellectually capable, adding that it is deeply connected with the people.

LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENTS

Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, China has gone through "one of the most prosperous and fruitful five-year period in its history under the leadership of the Communist Party of China," he said.

Over the past five years, the CPC has pursued a more efficient, equal, sustainable and better quality development pattern, which has led to many major new achievements, said Barua.

He also noted that these landmark achievements have been registered in boosting economic growth, improving the education system, social well-being, health care and promoting scientific and technological development, all of which are closely related to the interests of the Chinese people.

Barua said China's overall national strength has seen significant improvement over the years and the country has also achieved some progress in restructuring its economy.

Speaking of the future, Barua said there are ample evidence showing that China will make new achievements under the leadership of the CPC after the 19th National Congress.

WORLDWIDE RECOGNITION

The role played by the CPC on the world stage has also been deeply recognized and appreciated by the international community, he said.

Noting that the current world order has become "obsolete and volatile," he said many of China's diplomacy ideas, including the Belt and Road Initiative, have contributed to reforming the international system.

The initiative, which was proposed in 2013 by Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, comprises the overland Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

The initiative is aimed at promoting trade, financial integration, infrastructure inter-connectivity and people-to-people exchanges on and beyond the ancient Silk Road trade routes.

Barua expressed the hope that China would not only further develop so as to build "a moderately prosperous and harmonious society in all aspects," but also help to construct a better world.
