TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Fighter jets of Iran Air Force tested smart bombs in the ongoing war games, which kicked off in the central province of Isfahan on Tuesday, Tasnim news agency reported.
F-7 warplanes fired long-range bombs with pinpoint accuracy as well as homegrown rockets during the aerial exercises on Tuesday, General Massoud Roozkhosh, the spokesman for the war game was quoted as saying.
Besides, F-5 fighter jets and homegrown Saeqeh (Lightning) jets dropped 500-pound bombs on various targets in the operation zone, Roozkhosh said.
Roozkhosh said that the two-day military exercises are aimed at simulating real battle scenes.
Iran Air Force started massive air drills on Tuesday in the central province of Isfahan, official IRNA news agency reported.
