ACCRA, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- The head coach of the Black Stars, Ghana's senior national male soccer team, Kwesi Appiah Tuesday night named 23 players to prepare for the final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Egypt later this month.

The Black Stars will face the Pharaohs of Egypt at the China-built sports stadium in Cape Coast on Nov. 12.

Appiah is building a side capable of winning the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and is expected to use the game to assess the development of his team, as Ghana has failed to seal qualification to the Russia World Cup.

Captain Asamoah Gyan returns to the team after missing the Black Stars' last two matches through injury.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has been suspended for the clash because of accumulated yellow cards.
