AMMAN, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Wednesday condemned a terrorist attack in New York city that resulted in the death of several civilians, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said the terrorist attack was a cowardly act, adding that such a crime stresses on the terrorists' darkness and lack of humanity.

The minister called for unified efforts to eradicate terrorism. The minister also voiced solidarity with the US.

Eight people were killed and a dozen more injured after a truck plowed into pedestrians near the World Trade Center in New York City, an incident called "a particularly cowardly act of terror" by NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio.
