LONDON, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese ambassador to Britain on Wednesday slammed recent reports by some Western media outlets calling China an "intervener" in Africa.

In a signed article published Wednesday in The Daily Telegraph, Ambassador Liu Xiaoming said China itself is a victim of external interference in recent history, and has never interfered in the internal affairs of African countries.

Saying China respects Africa's "independent choice of development model," Liu added that China believes Africans have the wisdom and capability to blaze a development path that suits their national conditions and leads to stability and growth.

China is ready to share its experience rather than impose its will on Africa, Liu said. China is willing to enhance dialogue with African countries and make new contributions to promoting political civilization.

Liu, who had served twice at diplomatic posts in Africa, also underlined that China's assistance to Africa has no political strings attached and aims at the improvement of people's livelihood and capacity building.

No matter how the international situation changes, China will always be an "equal, sincere and genuine partner of Africa." It will work together with Africa to build a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness, justice and win-win cooperation, and a community with shared future for mankind, he added.
