BEIJING, June 12, 2016 (Xinhua) -- Photo taken on June 11, 2016 shows the relics of wall footing and pile caps of early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) palaces at the square of the Hall of Benevolent Peace in the Palace Museum or the Forbidden City in Beijing, capital of China. The Archaeological Institute of the Palace Museum Research Academy announced that an old foundation of the former royal palace was found in a prospecting pit in the northwest of Changxin Gate of the Hall of Benevolent Peace. Within the pit, which is 2.5 meters wide and 5.4 meters long, archaeologists find tile flooring and 0.3-meter-depth of rammed earth floor dating back to the Ming Dynasty. (Xinhua/Wang Jingqiang)
