BEIJING, June 12, 2016 (Xinhua) -- Shan Jixiang, curator of the Palace Museum, introduces the new found of relics of early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) palaces at the square of the Hall of Benevolent Peace in the Palace Museum or the Forbidden City in Beijing, capital of China, June 11, 2016. The Archaeological Institute of the Palace Museum Research Academy announced that an old foundation of the former royal palace was found in a prospecting pit in the northwest of Changxin Gate of the Hall of Benevolent Peace. Within the pit, which is 2.5 meters wide and 5.4 meters long, archaeologists find tile flooring and 0.3-meter-depth of rammed earth floor dating back to the Ming Dynasty. (Xinhua/Wang Jingqiang)
