TISZAINOKA, June 15, 2016 (Xinhua) -- Photo taken on June 14, 2016 shows the long-tailed mayflies (Palingenia longicauda) on the Tisza river in Tiszainoka village in Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok county, Hungary. The short-lived mayflies engage in a frantic rush to mate before they perish in just a few hours during the Tisza blooming season "Tiszaviragzas" from late spring to early summer every year. Larva of the species live in small holes in the river banks for three years before they develop into the final form of the insect to participate in the swarming, then die. (Xinhua/Attila Volgyi)
