WASHINGTON, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The White House on Friday reaffirmed backing for its long-standing one-China policy and the three China-U.S. joint communiques, after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump received a telephone call from Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen.

"We remain firmly committed to our one-China policy based on the three joint communiques," White House National Security Council spokesman Ned Price told local media. "Our fundamental interest is in peaceful and stable cross-strait relations."  Full story

BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Facing doubts and worries about the direction of China-U.S. ties in the next four years, it is imperative that the worlds's two biggest economies hold on to a cooperative spirit and stand firm against any temptation to undercut each other's core interests.

It is no surprise that every move and every statement of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, a controversial political newcomer who won Washington's top job against the odds, are put under a magnifying glass.  Full story
