Wang Mingchen's left leg was amputated because of a car accident in 2000. Meanwhile, Li Jianguo, Wang Mingchen's neighbor and former workmate, suffered from high paraplegia caused by accident in 2001. When he was most in need of care, Li's parents died in succession and his wife left him with their child. Feeling for Li, Wang promised to take care of him all his life, and he has sticked to his promise for 15 years since then. "We are both disabled. I know his hardship.
