ISTANBUL, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Zhu Ting, China's star spiker and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the Rio Olympic volleyball tournament, on Saturday voiced her readiness to play in the Turkish league.

"While I'm here, I shall devote myself to training and playing," Zhu said as she arrived in Istanbul early in the morning.

The 22-year-old said she will play for Vakifbank Istanbul, one of the most successful women volleyball clubs in Turkey, in this year's FIVB World Women's Club Championship slated for October in the Philippines.

China won the Rio gold medal after defeating Serbia in the final on Aug. 20, while Zhu finished as the top scorer with a total of 179 points, including a tournament-high 33 in the semifinals against the Netherlands.

She signed with Vakifbank Istanbul in April in a deal proposed by Lang Ping, head coach of the Chinese women's volleyball team.

"Despite winning gold in Rio, I think I have a lot of things to improve, that's why I go to Turkey," the girl said early this month.

Mustafa Apaydin, a worker from Vakifbank Istanbul, said Zhu will meet with her teammates later in the day and will join the training for the upcoming season's league that starts in late October.
