TOKYO, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- A special Doraemon-themed plane will fly the route between Narita International Airport in Tokyo and Pudong International Airport in Shanghai, starting from Thursday, Japan Airlines announced Wednesday.
The Boeing 767-300, with the image of Doraemon, a popular Japanese cartoon cat, painted on its fuselage, will be the first Doraemon-themed jet to debut on an international flight.
By playing up the popular cartoon cat which also has a large number of fans in China, the airline company aims to attract more Chinese customers, especially in holidays.
The Doraemon jet will be in service till March 2017. Doraemon-themed services and souvenirs will also be provided on the plane.
