Wu Yingjie elected CPC chief of Tibet

LHASA, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Wu Yingjie was elected Communist Party of China (CPC) chief of Tibet Autonomous Region at a plenum of the 9th Tibet Committee of the CPC on Friday.

Losang Jamcan, also chairman of the regional government, and three others were elected deputy secretaries of the CPC Tibet Committee.

Wu, born in 1956, is a native of Changyi, Shandong Province.
