CHANGCHUN, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Liu Guozhong was appointed as acting governor of northeast China's Jilin Province on Monday.
Liu was also named deputy governor of the province at a session of the Standing Committee of the Jilin People's Congress.
Liu, 54, a native of neighboring Heilongjiang province, had previously worked in the provincial governments of Heilongjiang and Sichuan, according to the official website of the Jilin provincial government.
