WINDHOEK, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Namibia will be represented at the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Gabon, by Titus Kunamuene, the competitions manager of the Namibia Football Association (NFA), although its national squad failed to qualify for the tournament running from Jan. 14 to Feb. 5.

Kunamuene was assigned as the assistant general coordinator for the newly built Gentil Stadium, located in Gabon's commercial capital Port Gentil with a capacity of 20,000 seats, that will host Group D action, featuring Ghana, Egypt, Mali and Uganda.

Kunamuene said on Wednesday that they will be responsible for ensuring all logistics are in place for the matches.

"This is the biggest level of African football and we have to ensure that the venue is ready for the games. We are responsible for the venue administration, ensuring that the matches are perfectly organized and consistent with all the other venues," he said.

Fresh from being General Coordinator at the 2016 Cosafa Under-20 championship in South Africa in Dec. 2016, Kunamuene said he is looking forward to his CAF assignment. Enditem
