JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- An unmanned plane of Afghan security forces crashed in Bati Kot district of the eastern Nangarhar province, a local official said Tuesday.
The unmanned plane crashed on Monday afternoon while attacking anti-government militants' positions, according to the official who declined to be named.
Meanwhile, spokesman for Nangarhar provincial governor Attaullah Khogiani said the unmanned plane crashed due to technical problems.
Taliban militants, however, claimed responsibility and told media that they shot down the unmanned plane on Monday.
The unmanned plane is largely used against militants elsewhere in Afghanistan.
