SYDNEY, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Premier of Western Australia has launched a new strategy to boost tourism to the already popular Margret River wine region, 270 km south of Perth, announcing day return flights from Perth to the vineyards by seaplane on Monday.

"For those who are time-poor or just want to experience a bit of luxury and see our southern coast in a different way, Swan River Seaplanes is a unique offering that I'm sure will prove very popular," West Australian Premier Colin Barnett said.

The day trips will cost 795 Australian dollars (600 U.S. dollars) per person and help support the already 9.6 billion Australian dollars (7.3 billion U.S dollars) generated per year by the Western Australia tourism industry.

"We have a goal to increase that to 12 billion Australian dollars (9 billion U.S dollars) by 2020 and attractions such as this will help us meet that target," Barnett said.
