MINSK, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Trilateral contact group on Ukraine agreed to withdraw heavy weapons from the line of separation in Donbas by February 20, an OSCE envoy said here on Wednesday.
Martin Sajdik, the envoy of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine, said that at the contact group meeting, the representatives paid a special attention to complete ceasefire on the contact line, and the conflicting parties agreed to withdraw the equipment prohibited under the Minsk agreements by February 20.
Sajdik stressed that since the previous meeting of the Contact Group the volume of hostilities in the conflict zone was reduced significantly.
Sajdik also said the negotiators continued discussions on the release of persons illegally detained in connection with the conflict and they decided to apply to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Geneva.
The next meeting of the trilateral contact group on Ukraine will be held in Minsk on March 1.
