SAPPORO, Japan, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Japan and South Korea split two golds in the alpine skiing slalom events at the Winter Asiad here on Saturday.
In the women's slalom, Japan's Emi Hasegawa finished first in both rounds and clocked 1 minute and 42.20 seconds.
Her teammate Asa Ando was only 0.64 second slower and settled for the silver, while South Korea's Kang Young-seo took the bronze in 1:45.70.
In the men's slalom, South Korea's Jung Dong-hyun and Kim Hyeon-tae took the gold and the silver respectively, while the bronze went to Japan's Hideyuki Narita.
China didn't get any medal in the event, with its best finisher Kong Fanying placing the seventh in the women's event.
Yang Jun, the team manager of the Chinese alpine skiing team, said that the Chinese alpine skiing still lags behind, and the team would work hard to learn from others and to prepare for the coming 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics.
