MINSK, March 1 (Xinhua) -- The participants of the contact group on the settlement of the situation in Ukraine reaffirmed their commitment to the full withdrawal of heavy weapons, the OSCE's Special Representative to contact group on Ukraine Martin Sajdik told local media on Wednesday.
After the meeting of the contact group in Minsk, Sajdik said that the sides confirmed their commitment to the withdrawal of heavy weapons and confirmed that security of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission's observers and their property will be ensured.
The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission was also asked to facilitate the implementation of the withdrawal of forces and hardware in the area of Stanytsia Luhanska on 7 March, Sajdik said.
The previous meeting of the contact group was held in the Belarusian capital on 15 February. Then the parties managed to reach an agreement on the withdrawal of all weapons from the contact line by 20 February. However, the parties failed to perform this.
The trilateral contact group will meet next time on 15 March.
