OUAGADOUGOU, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Senegalese filmmaker Alain Formose Gomis has won the golden Yennega Stallion, the grand prize of 25th edition of pan-African FESPACO film festival in Ouagadougou.
At the biennial pan-African cinema and television festival known as FESPACO, which concluded on Saturday, Gomis won the golden Yennega Stallion with a reward valued at 20 million CFA francs (about 32,389 U.S. dollars), with the film "Felicity."
The two runners-up were Beninese Sylvestre Amoussou with Silver Yennega Stallion and Said Khalaf from Morocco who ranks third with Bronze Yennega Stallion awarded to his film "A Mile in My Shoes."
"It is a great honor to lift this trophy," Gomis said, expressing gratitude to all those who helped him achieve the award winning film.
Gomis won the grand prize four years ago for the first time at the 23rd edition of FESPACO.
