NAIROBI, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Kenya football team coach Stanley Okumbi has named seven uncapped players in his squad of 26 for two international friendlies against Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Kenya is scheduled to play Uganda on March 23 and the Congolese three days later in Nairobi with six others returning to the squad made up of local players.

Okumbi said on Wednesday that foreign based players would be drafted to the side during the next FIFA International Week.

Whyvonne Isuza, Maurice Ojwang, Amos Asembeka, Moses Kuria, Samuel Onyango, Jeremy Wanjala and Vincent Oburu are the new call ups eying their first caps in Okumbi's team.

Kenneth Muguna who was named the domestic top flight Player of the Year for 2016 makes a comeback alongside Ovella Ochieng, David Mwangi, Sammy Naija, Samuel Mbugua and Bernard Mangoli.

"A further list of foreign-based players called up for the same will be availed in due course as we don't expect them to link up with the rest of the squad until the commencement of the FIFA friendlies window," Okumbi said.

Federation Chief Executive, Robert Muthomi, said the Uganda game had been pushed back by a day following consultations with their FUFA counterparts. Enditem
