LONDON, March 14 (Xinhua) -- British shares edged down on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 0.13 percent, or 9.23 points, to close at 7,357.85 points.
British multinational insurer Prudential soared 3.03 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips.
Anglo-Dutch consumer goods company Unilever gained 1.32 percent. British retailing company went up 1.28 percent.
