AMMAN, March 21 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. authorities have banned passengers flying from Jordan to the U.S. from carrying large-sized electronic devices in the cabin, the Royal Jordanian Airlines said in a statement Tuesday.
The new rules issued by the U.S. authorities to ban electronic devices in the cabin only allow them in their checked baggage.
The ban related to ten airports in the Middle East, the Arab Gulf and North Africa, including Queen Alia Airport of Jordan, according to the statement.
The airport will implement the instructions as of March 24, 2017, it added.
The statement also made clear that prohibited devices include laptops, ipads, tablets and cameras, which can be transported in the checked baggage only, whereas cellular phones and needed medical devices are excluded from the ban.
The airlines called upon its passengers traveling to the United States to abide by these instructions to facilitate their travels.
