BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.5 percent to 3,245.22 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.31 percent to end at 10,553.53 points. The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's high-growth enterprises, dropped 0.64 percent to close at 1,948.58 points.
