ABUJA, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria's secret police on Wednesday said its personnel arrested two suspects in connection with the recent kidnapping of two German archaeologists in the country's northern Kaduna State.
The secret police identified the kidnap suspects as Ibrahim Sule and Bello Shehu. They were arrested on March 13, said Tony Opuiyo, a spokesman for the Department of State Services (DSS).
"The suspects are being questioned to establish other possible members of the network," he said.
German Peter Breuning and his research assistant, Johannes Behringer, were kidnapped on Feb. 22 while working on an excavation of relics of Nok culture at Jenjela community in Kagarko local government of Kaduna State.
The victims regained their freedom about four days later. Enditem
