RIO DE JANEIRO, March 22 (Xinhua) -- The Brazilian government released on Wednesday an official statement to condemn vehemently the attack near London's Parliament building earlier in the day.
"The Brazilian government expresses its solidarity to the families and friends of the victims, to the people and the government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland," said the statement released by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry.
The attack, which occurred in broad daylight, resulted in at least five deaths, including the suspected perpetrator, as well as some 40 injuries, according to Scotland Yard.
The incident took place on the first anniversary of a terrorist attack in Brussels.
The Foreign Ministry said no Brazilian nationals are among the victims so far.
