GHAZNI, Afghanistan, March 28 (Xinhua) -- At least four Taliban militants have been killed and two others injured after clash erupted between security forces and armed insurgents in Gilan district of the eastern Ghazni province on Monday, an army spokesman in the province Hanif Rezai said Tuesday.
The clash, according to the official erupted in Kamaludin village of Gilan district Monday afternoon after the militants stormed a security checkpoint and the security personnel returned fire killing four insurgents on the spot and leaving two more injured.
No security personnel has been hurt in the firefight lasted for a while, the official contended.
Gilan district has been the scene of Taliban-led militancy over the past couple of years.
