LONDON, March 28 (Xinhua) -- FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday rose by 0.68 percent, or 49.92 points, to 7,343.42 points.
Share price of Wolseley increased by 5.06 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Standard Chartered, Pearson, Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton increased by 4.07 percent, 3.63 percent, 2.81 percent and 2.51 percent respectively.
Associated British Foods led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 1.43 percent, following by easyJet (1.33 percent), Hammerson (1.23 percent), Intu Properties (1.09 percent) and J Sainsbury (1.08 percent).
