HO CHI MINH CITY, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City has received the first-class Development Order of the Lao State for its contributions to Vientiane capital's construction and development.
Authorized by the Lao prime minister, Vientiane Governor Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune presented the order to the municipal authorities at a ceremony on Wednesday, Vietnam News Agency reported.
In his speech, Sinlavong said the presentation of the noblest order of Laos to the city marks the special friendship and cooperation between the two cities as well as recognizes the city's assistance to Vientiane and Laos.
He expressed thanks to the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, authorities and people for their support to the Lao capital in infrastructure development, financial management and human resources training.
