BANGKOK, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Tourism Authority has set August as the month for women travelers again this year in an attempt to entice female visitors around the world into the kingdom.

According to the tourism authority, a series of activities will be held throughout August, such as a lady golf challenge, a Thai fabric show, special deals as well as discounts and privileges for women.

The tourism authority will also invite female celebrities, bloggers, photographers to visit the country for the event.

Besides, many shopping centers, massage parlors, restaurants, airlines and other businesses related to tourism will offer special prizes or gifts for female customers during the month.

All the information will be featured in a mobile app called "Women's Journey Thailand," which will be available in June, said Srisuda Wanapinyosak, the tourism authority's deputy governor for international marketing (Asia and the South Pacific).

Talking about the reason why Thailand has launched such a women-targeted campaign, Srisuda said, "Today women are significant decision makers and powerful with high-spending power, while Thailand, a country with a full range of products and services that can serve women's needs, can definitely be the ideal destination."
