KABUL, June 3 (Xinhua) -- At least six people have been confirmed dead and 87 others injured as three blasts hit a funeral ceremony in Kabul on Saturday, the Interior Ministry said.

"Terrorists' attacks on a funeral ceremony here in Kabul claimed the lives of six people and injured 87 others," the ministry said in a statement.

Earlier reports said 18 people were killed and 12 injured.

Citing local officials, local TV channel Tolo said the blasts occurred when hundreds of people attended the funeral ceremony of Salim Ayzedyar in Sara-e-Shamali neighborhood in the 11 Police District of Kabul city Saturday afternoon.

Salim was the son of Alam Ayzedyar, the deputy speaker of the Upper House of parliament. He was killed in clashes between demonstrators and police in Kabul on Friday.
