BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhua) - Olympic champion Zhao Shuai won the first-ever world title of China men's taekwondo in 2017 World Taekwondo Championship in Muju, South Korea on Friday.

"This is a historical moment for our Chinese men's taekwondo team!" said team officer Zheng Yu after the final.

Zhao Shuai, a 21-year-old history maker of Chinese men's taekwondo, outshone Mirhashem Hosseini from Iran at 11-5 in 63kg class final.

Compared to the final, Zhao Shuai's semifinal victory was more thrilling. Grabbed half of their total scores in the final frame, Zhao and his British opponent Brady Sinden ended their breathtaking match at 43-29.

Zhao Shuai won the first-ever Olympic gold medal for Chinese men's taekwondo team in 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
