BUDAPEST, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Kazan and Budapest were voted as the host city for the 2022 and 2024 FINA Short-Course World Championships respectively here on Monday.

Apart from the two cities, Hong Kong and Taipei were also among candidate cities for the two tournaments.

"All these cities have worked very hard to present solid projects. I am sure that in any of them FINA would organise excellent Championships," commented the FINA President Julio Maglione before releasing the host cities.

Kazan hosted the 2015 FINA World Championships. Budapest is now the host city to the 2017 edition of the tournament.

Before Kazan and Budapest, the 2018 FINA Short-Course World Championships will be held in Hangzhou, while Abu Dhabi will host the 2020 tournament.
