TALLINN, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy Monday visited an airbase in Estonia where a Spanish air force contingent has been deployed since May.

Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas met his Spanish counterpart at Amari Air Base in northern Etonia and discussed the issue of defense cooperation, security of Europe, including the fight against terrorism, and the migration crisis.

From May to August of this year, four F-18 fighters are located at Amari Air Base in northern Estonia as part of the Baltic Air Policing Mission, said the Estonian government press release.

Estonian minister of defense Juri Luik also met Spanish minster of defense Maria Dolores de Cospedal to discuss the two countries' contribution to regional security.

After the brief visit, the Spanish delegation left Estonia for Latvia to visit the 350 Spanish troops stationed there, said the press release.
