ANKARA, July 18 (Xinhua) -- The Turkish army striked on Tuesday the outposts of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in northern Iraq and in southeastern Turkey, the army source said.
The air strikes was carried out when the army have determined outposts of the PKK attempting to launch an attack, Al Hurra channel quoted a Turkish army statement as saying.
The shelling resulted in killing of a number of PKK elements in addition to destroying targets belonging to the Kurdish party in Al Zab town in northern Iraq and city of Betlis in southeastern Turkey, the statement said.
