CAIRO, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Armenian Ambassador in Cairo Armen Melkonian said Tuesday a decision was taken to operate a direct flight from Yerevan to the Red Sea resort city of Hurghada, according to official news agency MENA.
"Hurghada city is one of the main tourist destinations for Armenians," ambassador Melkonian was quoted by MENA as saying.
This is why a decision was taken to operate a direct flight from Yerevan to Hurghada city, he added.
The Armenian diplomat met with Red Sea Governor Ahmed Abdulla on means of boosting cooperation in the tourism and cultural fields.
The two officials meeting also tackled security measures carried out by Egypt for the safety of tourists in Hurghada city.
