Asian Jujitsu Championship opens in Vietnam

HANOI, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- The 2017 Asian Jujitsu Championship kicked off here on Saturday, with the participation of over 300 athletes from 20 countries and regions.

During the three-day tournament, the athletes from such countries as China, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and Kazakhstan are competing with one another in performance and combat events.

Jujitsu, or Jujutsu or jiu-jitsu, is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat for defeating an armed and armored opponent in which one uses no weapon or only a short weapon. Its derived sport forms include Judo.
