BEIRUT, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon beat Kazakhstan 96-74 on Saturday to get through to the 2nd round of the FIBA Asia Cup held here.
Lebanon will play Chinese Taipei on Monday after securing the win against Kazakhstan and benifitting from the defeat of New Zealand by South Korea earlier today 76-75.
New Zealand lead Group C, Lebanon places 2nd while South Korea is 3rd leaving Khazakhstan in the fourth place and out of the competition.
In other games played today, Japan beat Hong Kong of China 92-59 while Australia beat Chineae Taipei 90-50.
Australia lead Group D while Japan is ranked 2nd and Chinese Taipei in the 3rd place.
