Mongolia hosts 37th World Congress of Poets

ULAN BATOR, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- The 37th World Congress of Poets opens here on Thursday.

This event titled "The Mind of Nature and the Nature of the Human Soul", brings together more than 200 well known poets, writers, translators, cultural and art figures from over 40 countries.

Within the framework of the congress, the International Poetry Festival "Danzanravjaa" will also take place in Dornogov province, where the Mongolian poet, educator and religious figure of the 19th century D.Danzanravjaa was born.

During the congress, which will last till Aug. 22, various events will take place in Mongolia, such as exhibitions, poetry evenings, and presentations of new books and magazines.

Poets from all over the world will also get acquainted with the natural reserve in the Gobi Desert, visit nomadic camels and read their poems under the starry sky of Mongolia.
