WUHAN, China, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- The 2017 Wuhan Women's Half Marathon will be held on Nov. 12 in Wuhan, the capital city of central China's Hubei Province, and the registration will begin on Aug. 28, organizers said here on Friday.
The competition, the first of the kind in Wuhan, comprises a half marathon, and a 5-km health run. And 200 of the runners will have the opportunity to participate in the 2018 Wuhan Marathon, according to the organizers.
The route of the women's half marathon is designed in Wuhan's Hanyang District. "Hanyang, where the Yangtze River meets Hanjiang, has abundant natural resources and profound cultural heritages," said Pi Huilan, vice-governor of Hanyang District.
The registration will run till Sept. 7, and around 5,000 runners are expected to sign for it.
