Iran's wheat exports rise significantly in 4 months

TEHRAN, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Iran's wheat exports have witnessed significant rise in the first four months of the current Iranian year, beginning on March 21, Financial Tribune daily reported on Thursday.

Close to 106,300 tons of wheat worth 26.66 million U.S. dollars were exported to 10 countries on March 21-July 22, the report said.

The figure indicates some 22-fold rise in weight and 13-fold growth in value compared with the corresponding period of last year.

Armenia, Afghanistan, Germany, the United States, Turkey, South Korea, Iraq, Oman, Kuwait and the Netherlands were the export destinations for Iranian wheat during the four months.
