HANOI, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam is deeply concerned about the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s missile launch on Tuesday, a Vietnamese foreign ministry spokesperson said here on Thursday.

The launch is a serious violation of United Nations Security Council's related resolutions and fuels tensions in the region, said spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang.

"Vietnam consistently supports all efforts to strengthen dialogues and maintain peace and stability in the Korean peninsula," the spokesperson stated.

Vietnam also calls on the sides concerned to stringently comply with the related resolutions, and take constructive and pragmatic actions to help maintain peace, security and stability in the region and the world, she said.
