TEHRAN, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Central Bank of Iran has forecast an economic growth of at least five percent for the current Iranian calendar year that ends on March 20, 2018, Financial Tribune daily reported on Saturday.
"Most of the economic sectors have improved remarkably during the current fiscal year (starting on March 21), therefore the country will register at least a five percent economic growth by the end of the year," Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Governor, Valiollah Seif, was quoted as saying.
According to CBI's official figures, the Iranian economy expanded by 12.5 percent during the previous Iranian year to March 20, 2017, but the figure is largely attributed to the rise in Iran's oil exports in the wake of sanctions relief.
Iran has emerged from recession in the fiscal 2014-15 with a three percent growth after two years of recession.
